Alors, let’see what will happen…
Start by bicycle, come back by bicycle. That was the program. Initially, I had rather expected to return before the cold season. Finally, the circumstances made that I began the return journey from Belgium in the beginning of December. And it was getting cold, for sure … And indeed, very short days with temperatures falling quickly in the evening, some jellies in the mornings , and even black ice ( which made me falling two times during the last day , when there hadn’t been any falling before … ) have peppered the last days of cycling.
But I was well equipped with a pant offered in Belgium (which I haven’t used , but I had… ), and a winter pullover from Poland ( well used this one! ). And I got a very nice weather ( not a drop of rain, a great sun during the last days ) and above all every evening people to open their doors to me , allowing me to spend warm nights. The easy life, until the end !
I arrived in Couëron in December the 11th. This time , it’s the end of the trip . After 8 months of travel, 9870 km, 11 countries, 14 building sites, visiting 20 other houses, a hundred of sleeping at home and nice meetings …
And now ? Find a job in France ? Or rather continu to travel, by feet, by bike, or hitchhiking ? Start a project to build a straw bale house ? Do carpentry formation before? Install a permaculture project ? In community? Make eficient handwork oven? … This trip has opened a lot of opportunities.
I learned from my trip that everything is possible , sometimes it’s simply a question of choice, of will.
So, let’s see what will happen …
